[framed_box] Operating Excellence, or Lean Management, is most often deployed deep inside organizations—especially in manufacturing contexts on the shop and warehouse floor. However, there is often greater strategic opportunity and financial payback by beginning at the “C” level. This presentation will paint a picture of what it means to apply Operating Excellence down through an organization, beginning at the top. Thomas Addington, Ph.D. is the Founder and CEO of Brand Villages and Givington’s. Brand Villages is a strategy consulting firm that works with a variety of organizations in different industries in the United States and abroad. Givington’s is a startup ecommerce retail company which gives 50% of its gross profit from every transaction to non-profit beneficiaries designated by the customer. Tom has served on the faculties of The Pennsylvania State University, where he also received his Ph.D., and the University of Arkansas. His teaching was in areas of organizational design, development, culture, and communication. In addition to his Ph.D. Tom holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. [/framed_box]
